Revolting bug?

Hello folks, I had something odd happen today.
Many times as the Slightly Immoral Urgan Empire, I have completely cleansed a planet of alien filth prior to colonization.
This results in a brand new planet (albeit with slightly diminshed mineral deposits) and a happy, productive colony.
Today I had a colony ship in orbit (normally I leave them behind lines in case of surprises) so I colonized immediately after bombing.
Hit spacebar and BOOM the colony was "Revolting!". My fleets were in orbit, no alien presence was within several star systems. This seems off.
As a programmer myself, I noticed that the colony was in revolt for the previous owner before I obliterated it. Perhaps there is a bug clearing some kind of status when a planet is bombed clean and then immediately colonized?
Or perhaps there is some mechanic I don't know about. But my experience with cleaned and re-colonized planets has been very consistent up until now.
Thanks in advance for any insight / bug # / "that's fixed in the next patch".
