This year's competition details should be up on their website later today.
http://www.ddwg.org.uk/attack-2016-comp ... ition.html
All entries must be sent to the Devizes Club contact given on the site.
I will be doing the army list checking and sorting out the draw etc.
Hopefully I won't be called on to make, too many rulings.

Richard is recovering well from his operation and hopefully he will be partnering me.

Unfortunately that bit is out of my control. I was assured it would be up earlier this week and hence my post. The theme will be as follows,
THE FOGOTTEN ARMIES.
The armies rarely seen in the regular competitions.
Cities of Gold.
Arawak, Carib, Aztec, Tarascan, Zapotec or Mixtec, Chinantec, Mayan, Inca, Mapuche or Araucanian, Amazonian Forest Tribes, Tupi, Pueblo Culture, Chicimec, Natchez, South-Eastern Woodland Culture, Timucuan, Eastern Woodland Culture, Plains Culture, Pacific North-West Culture, Buccaneer, Oromo, Central African, Funj or Fur, West African Forest, Mossi
Colonies and Conquest.
Korean, Ikko Ikki, Mongol, Tibetan, Muslim Indian, Hindu Indian, Indonesian or Malaccan, Thai, Burmese and Khmer, Vietnamese, Desert Bedouin, Settled Arab states, Ethiopian, Zanj, Horn of Africa, Maori and Pacific Island Cultures, Hawaiian, Mughal, Wokou Pirates, Maratha.
Clash of Empires.
Mamluk, Aq Qoyunlu Turcoman, Anatholian Emirates, Safavid Persian.
Please note: NO European mercenaries or allies are allowed.
Bit more choice than last year.

I'd be very interested in doing this but need a partner. Anyone interested? I have a reasonable selection of armies on the list.

				Cavalry armies might dominate then!
Tlaxcalans won't like Tibetans for instance!

I ran a round of the FoGR one day league with a similar list of armies and it proved very popular.

				Don,
Is there going to be the usual restrictions on: -
a) average and superior?
b) number of foot per artillery gun?
Is there going to be a limit on the number of mounted otherwise no many foot only armies will be used. Why not foot only this year then mounted next year?

Yes, I suspect that trying to take the Tupi or similar up against Tibetan or similar would be an exercise in warming plates with your bottom!

				What Ho!
How many points would you intend this to be?

				Bob
If people suspect a mounted heavy slate of opponents, maybe Hindu Indian is the counter to that... Not as good as the Mughals we have seen in the past but might still be a nasty surprise.

Ray and I are looking a variety of mounted and foot armies for Devizes. Clarification from Don will help in making the final choice.

No restrictions other than in the lists.
One year will be enough for me thanks.

Hi Kevin, if Simon can't make it then I'd be happy to partner you. I'll check when I see him next.
Cheers, Lynnette.

Hi Kevin,
Simon isn't sure whether he'd be able to make it or not so if you're up for it then that'd be great.
Cheers Lynnette.
