Problem playing US Marines campaign

Playing the great new Marines campaign, I was kicked out during the scenario that is a prelude to the Solomons, with an error message of "too many stacks" and the error text file seems to mention I'm out of memory. Running OOB Pacific version 2.3.8. Anyway, I checked my system info and I do have free paging memory and physical memory, so I can't figure out what gives and keep getting kicked out after the autosaves finish loading and I try to "continue."

Hi Boarspear, do you consistently get this error every time you load the savegame?

I tried downloading the Autosave, the Autosave (end of turn), and the game I saved myself before I started this battle -- every time it loads up, and when I press the continue button, I get kicked out with an error message to alert the developers. Everything was fine up to this point. Saved multiple times -- only had one crash where the AI turn was stuck and I used task manager to end the game. Even then it ran fine afterwards.

Update -- problem fixed for now! I went back to the start of the previous scenario, my saved game of the New Georgia setup, and now I can load the autosaves from that. Maybe that particular scenario got temporarily corrupted? We'll see after I finish.

After replaying New Georgia on up, I saved my game and now have had two crashes back to back in the scenario mentioned above (Treasury Islands?).

I'm getting tired of sending these in, and you guys may be tired of getting them, but I sure wish I could play this game. This time I disabled anti-malware to see if it made a difference when I tried to reload the last autosave. It didn't. Three times I have started over with the New Georgia game, got through to Choiseul or Treasury Islands, and crash about mid game with a "too many stacks" error or something like that. Then I can't play the scenario. Period.

I sent my DXDiag before.

I've been through this before with the "basic" game -- after all the fixes I was able to play again. So unless something has changed (and nothing has changed with my computer -- maybe that's part of the problem), I have to hope the next change will fix whatever is preventing progress.

are you still getting stack overflow errors being reported?

implies not enough ram, either on the vid card or the computer. make sure you have nothing else running.

If you actually do have plenty of ram (both machine and vid card), try running through the windows stack overflow troubleshooter. might help.

also, make sure your video drivers are updated, and you might even need to update the bios on your motherboard. I remember I had to do that when I got a new vid card for my current computer.
