Difference between 2D tactical map and 3D tactical map

I can see the difference between the 3D world map and the 3D tactical map, but what is the difference between the third option, the 2D tactical map?
In the manual I read that is shows the map without any 3D effect but I can't see any difference on my system between those two modes. I like to know if I miss something.
AMD R7 2GB 250, Crimson driver 16.4.1, Intel Dual Core 2.66, 8GB, Windows 10 64bit.
Steam version 2.3.8, both Morning sun and US Marines DLC installed.

Hi, can anyone (developer or other player) confirm what the difference should be between the 3Dtactical mode and the 2Dtactical mode?
I can only see the difference between the 3Dworld mode and the 3Dtactical mode but the third option don't change anything for me. I really want to know if its something on my end, my videodrivers end (AMD have multiple problems with Unity and latest drivers) or if it's just an option what is still in development. Thanks in advance.

The difference is that in 2D mode there is no perspective in the rendering of map and units. It essentially looks like a 2D game. Otherwise the visuals are identical to the 3D tactical map mode.

Then there is a problem with my game and the modes I can select. Because I can select the 3D world map mode and I see a fully 3D rendered terrain and unit graphics or I can change to 3D tactical mode, but that mode is in no way different for me then the 2D tactical mode. It should be nice if someone can post s screen comparisson between the 3 different modes. 2D tactical mode and 3D tactical mode have absolutely the same result for me.
[edit] If I scroll to the end of the map I see that the 2D map mode is a top down view, while the 3D map mode have a slight slope view. I can see the difference now. Should be great to have boardgame unit counters in the 2D map mode. I really love that mode!
Thank you for your response adherbal.

Always pays to search the forums! Sure enough, here is my question - just about word-for-word - already posted and and officially answered. Although, with utmost respect to adherbal of course, I'm like these other guys; I'll be darned if I can detect any difference between 2D Tactical Map and 3D Tactical Map.
One thing leads to another, though; while admiring maitrebongo's 2D counter mod, I noticed that he apparently uses the Tactical Map and, to be honest, I never thought of looking at it. Now I am. Not as realistic as 3D World Map? Of course not. Clear, crisp, definite as to hex terrain type, easy to see and identify units? Sure is, using a Tactical Map.

I'll leave these screen shots here for the next time it occurs to me to wonder as to what the difference is.
So Bruce, take a look at these two images. The top is 2D tactical and the bottom is 3D tactical. It's a matter of perspective which becomes more prominent if you zoom out and look at the edges of the map. 2D is flat while 3D "recedes" in the distance. You will probably not notice any difference unless you zoom all the way out.
