Star Wars: Alliance – A Polaris Sector mod released

Greetings!
Many of you already know about the mod I’ve been developing over the course of the past several months. It’s a
total conversion of
Polaris Sector to adapt it to the
Star Wars universe. The mod is very large in scope, and it’s currently in development, but it’s already very advanced and I’m aiming at releasing it soon.
What are the key features of Alliance?

Over 190 new space units with a completely unique design! And more to come!

9 new factions with their own buildings, units, graphical style. The nine factions are: Galactic Empire, Rebel Alliance, Black Sun, Hutts, Corporate Sector from the Galactic Civil War, Krayt Empire and Fel Empire/Galactic Alliance from Legacy era, Republic and CIS from the Clone Wars.

Special units! Think Super weapons. Think Super space stations

Weapons and technology have been revamped and adapted to the Star Wars universe!

New planet types with unique graphics! Fight massive space battles orbiting the huge metropolis Coruscant!

New music!

Different way of keeping track of time. The game is now fast paced, taking only some days or months to build spaceships.

More news. Another group of units tested.
The ship from the left is the Mandator MKI. The most powerful hull from the Republic. It is a smaller than a SSD but it continues being powerful.
The Republic has a advantage, it has two type of freighters, the small CR20 and the Pelta. Of course, you can make a freighter with all type of ships but these should be cheaper and better.
The Protector and the Legacy, two star destroyers from the Republic.
Another smaller cruiser, the Valiant.

Clearly the Venator.
The Megator, the SSD from the Black Sun. ery big, with a lot of cells for all modules. Very powerful and very expensive.
There are three type of Kedalbe Battleships. The MKI, MKII and MKIII. Each one of them bigger and clearly more powerful.

The heroes are one of the new features created thinking in the mods. Heroes can give special abilities in the planet where they are and they are transported by customized space units. Have fun.
The special space units from heroes, with some of them, they will have advanced weapons and other systems-non researched in the begining.

Some more news here about heroes.
This is the shuttle design from the Imperial heroes. It has a lack of weapons but it has very good defensive systems.
A preview from the Imperial heroes, I have choosen this type of icons style because it is as others in the game.
In a first place, I will add 5 races for most of the factions. It can look as very few but.......there are 9 races and some of them will need new space units.
About new space units, I have added a new type, the Shuttles, mostly, they will be used as heroe-transports and you will need other starship if you want move to other system.
Yes, I could create the heroe shuttles with hyperdrives but with this way, they are more useful and by example, you can put them in the hangars from your mother ship.

Just a point, the time era from the mod should be after the Death Star I destruction. By this reason, I will replace Tarkin by other Imperial hero.

I have uploaded a video fighting with heroes. This is what I made by the moment.
The shuttles are heroes. Mon Mothma between others use these ships which they must be transported by other ships with hangar bays.
The fighers as the X-Wing from Luke, they need a hangar bay. The Millenium Falcon can fly as other starships and it can travel without the normal routes, jumping from a planet to other.
Other ships in battle are the Majestic ISD from the Emperor, the Stalwart from Vice Admiral Thrawn, The Executor from Vader, The Frigate Dodonna from General Dodonna and the Home One from Admiral Ackbar.
You can see Tarkin but......it will be dead because the time era will be after the battle of Yavin. It is the better time era for this mod.

Now with the heroes almost and the Death Star new code added. I am adding some special things from the mod. By example the Interdictor module. In the original game, it can be installed in most of the type of ships with the unique condition from more energy required. At my mod you will need more cells and by this reason it can be mounted only at one or two hulls from each faction.
For this item, I have added a different graphic.

More news. One of the new features from the mod is the proyectile colors. Each race will have a customized color for the turbolaser and heavy turbolaser. There will be red, green, violet, yellow and blue.
The orange is reserved for other type of proyectiles as the Mass Drivers or the high speed turbolasers.

Well, the status from the mod is very finished, just I need some small work in the heroes and piece of additional new code which perhaps comes with the next patch from the game.
Lately I have added things like these and some more heroes for the Empire, Rebel Alliance and Republic. About heroes, they have different abilities as reduce the production time in planet and orbit, increase the attack values from a fleet or reduce the research timings. There are several of them and I have added one for each hero.
About how get them, you will start your empire with two and you can find all the others from your faction when you colonize temperate planets. However, it is a random thing and you will one to get one new heroe with each new planet.

Here you can see the two heroes from the Hutts in the begining. There are some more, some of them very strange or special. I have added as you can see a small description about their ability.
In the third screenshot, you can see my easy solution for the wormholes.
For end, I have renamed the ground unit types. Now it is better for the mod.
