Hi all - totally new here and looking to build an army. I like the Romano Brits from Splintered Light Miniatures and wonder which book to purchase to use them??

How about using them as Foedarate Romans - its pretty close. Use your spearmen as HF Auxilia, Arthur and his boys can be cataphracts or alani

probably a better list then the Brits (if you base it on the Amorican allies and the old sub human DBM list) and possibly more keeping with the romance.

If you don't want to wait until Feb 2009, get Legions Triumphant. All the enemies are already there (Early Pictish, Early Scots-Irish, Early Anglo-Saxon and friends), and I'm thinking the actual Sub-Roman British army will look a lot like the Armorican Allies list (last list in Legoins Triumphant, under Hunnic). I would assume the light cavalry have javelins instead of bows, and include 1-3 BGs of light foot (unprotected, undrilled, poor or average, at least half with javelin/light spear but maybe some with bows). The Alan Nobles look like a fun interpretation of Arthur's Knights of the Round Table, though a reasonable argument could be made that they should resemble Equites from the Foederate Roman list instead.

I also like the idea of using the Foederate Roman list from LT for Post-Roman/Sub-Roman/Arthurian Brits.
