Newest steam beta crashes

I just updated to the beta on steam.
After I choose a country to begin play, the game locks up and crashes to desktop. Tried it with ariselle, dragonhold and iron barony
Update. Oddly the game created a save game file for dragonhold and would launch when I hit load game. However it promptly crashed to desktop when I hit the end turn button.
