Fighting in terrain

If the rules are pretty clear stating that a unit fighting in a terrain has somme disavantages ( fighting usually one cohesion level lower ) , what happens if the front half of the unit is outside a rough terrain, faces the ennemy in the open but has the rear part of the unit in rough/difficult terrain ?
Does it count fighting in "bad"terrain or in good terrain ?

we had a similar situation a few years ago. If I recall correctly Terry stated that you would fight the part of the unit out in the open so the fight would count as fighting in clear. However the unit in the terrain would still count as being disordered by the terrain. Best to be fully in or fully out of terrain. Sure thats what Terry said too.

The fairly standard 'FOG-esque' way of dealing with this situation is you take the worst for morale purposes but take then best for fighting purposes.
So, as you say, in the clear, but a -ve (presumably) for any tests.
