We are proud to announce the first ever VR wargame, set in the American Civil War!
Thanks to Oculus Rift technology, never before has the experience of being a Civil War general been this realistic. Experience a real march by a Civil War army in real-time, watch your men setting up and breaking down campsites, make sure they are well organized by unit and for proper hygiene. Conduct uniform and weapon inspections as well as infantry drills. Choose from a wide variety of tobacco and alcohol products to bring with you on the march and into battle, including the option of multiple canteens as you increase your experience. Make decisions every day regarding issues ranging from squabbles among the men, camp followers, foraging, distribution of supplies and the responsibilities of your junior officers. Read dispatches, write your own and keep up with the paperwork required of any responsible general - thanks to our special feedback pen, you will feel that you are actually doing all the writing yourself!
Finally, once you find the enemy, welcome to real fog of war. Expect to hear the battle, but to keep with our mission of realism, you will actually see very little of it, except what is around you, and lots of smoke. Smoke so real, you will think you can smell it! The game expects you to write out your orders and send them by messenger, or shout them out to those around you - though the closer you are to the battle, the more likely the noise will cause you to be misunderstood, so make sure you are very loud! Also, the reports you receive may be late, incorrect or exaggerated and your own dispatches can easily be lost on the way! Additionally, we've worked with re-enacting specialists to make sure that you will experience the deafening sound of battle as it really was (the volume will be locked while you play the game to ensure the most realistic experience) and should you be injured in the game, our modeling extends to the full medical and surgical care of the day, with detailed medical tents, amputations and a variety of elixirs. In the era before antibiotics, even a small scratch could lead you on a multi-week medical VR journey that ends your career and your virtual general's life!
