Hello.
Do you use "set objective state" to end the scenario?
or How do you get a scenario to end properly?
Thank you,
Earle

A scenario ends in victory when one alliance (player) achieves all its primary objective. So you need to define one or more of these and use the "set objective state" trigger effects to mark them "completed" in order to end a scenario in victory instead of draw. Of the (AI) opponent achieves all its primary objectives, the player gets a defeat.

Does this mean we need to set primary objectives for the AI (mirroring the player objectives)?
It is not enough for a human player to not meet all primary objectives to get a defeat?

No, that would only give a draw. There is no winner if no one achieves all his objectives.
You don't need to mirror objectives for AI though. Just create a single objective and set it to completed on scenario end.

One more thing.
Adding a scenario end-trigger is (almost?) mandatory for defending primary objectives.
But it is better to not use this for the attacking side, right? Cause then the scenario would always have to be played to the very end even if the attacker captures all primary objectives.

Not sure what you mean?
If the only objective is to capture X VP then obviously there should be a trigger to set that objective as soon as the last VP is taken.
If you are talking about a MP scenario then it also needs a trigger which gives victory to the defender if the scenario end is reached of course.
If it's against the AI you can just let the draw outcome text read "DEFEAT" instead of creating a specific trigger which checks a primary objective for the AI player at the scenario end.
