Problems with CTGW on iPad

Hello,

I am having a lot of problems playing a 1914 Campaign on my iPad air 2. Its a problem with "naval moves" after I end my turn which freezes and then crashes the game. I have the most up to date version of the game and have downloaded it on a number of different occasions and still have the same problem. My version of the game is the latest one listed on the App Store.

This is a common problem on your forum both on PC and iPad. Problem is that I cant download any hotfixes on my iPad. The problem effectively breaks the game for me and is exceptionally annoying because it has not been fixed in years. I cant get past October 1916 because the game keeps on crashing.

I started experiencing this after I first downloaded the game after launch and its still an issue, many others on this forum have experienced this issue and its still not resolved.

Please let me know when I can expect this to be fixed

1.66 patch on pc is so far problem free

(in previous 1.64 it happened to me even in mp game)

ussually it was caused by convoys i guess, in 1.66 after loading autosave there is available to move them manually, but never needed until now in 1.66

Yes well the iPad version is still 1.6.4. so we seem to be at least two patches behind.

Any Dev's around to say when the game will be updated or is it abandoned on the iPad?

Oh reloading older saves does nothing to solve the problem

its just one patch behind, at least i dont remember nothing like 1.65

but it explains why there is present that convoy bug and maybe why 2/3 mp games usually ends as inactive, if there are a lot of ipaders 8)

There has been a convoy bug for years, since the original release on iPad at least and as far as i can tell almost nothing has been done to fix it or the fixes so far have not worked.

Its very annoying on an otherwise great game

Usually the game crashes if an AI fleet/convoy gets removed during the AI phase either by certain events or if a fleet can't be placed/spawned because of lack of space. This has to do with the array containing all the units in the game getting screwed up in a way the game cannot handle.

Is it possible to access the game's folder structure on ipad? If so and if the lua scripts are in standard .txt format as in the PC version I might be able to help.

So if possible find these files:

"convoys.lua" and "deployment.lua" in:

data/scripts/game/

put both into an archive and upload it using the attachment feature in the reply-box.

So - has anyone successfully finished a game on the iPAD?

Are the bugs mentioned game breaking or just annoyances?

I just finished my first game of Command and Colors The Great War on iPAD and it put me back in the mood to try this game again for the Strategic experience ...
