Will CNaW have a screenshot key, which, when pressed, names and saves a screenshot automatically?

It doesn't at the moment - if it is a feature that's widely requested we can look in to it.

Actually I do not think that this feature will be widely requested, because it is one of the things you only miss if you are used to it.

(One of the best example for this category of things might be the scroll-wheel on the mouse. For 20+ years nobody was missing it, but whoever tested a scroll-mouse just for a couple of hours, was missing it from that on, if his/her own mouse did not have one.)

For me personally, the missing screenshot key is the major reason not to publish an AAR, because "print screen" + pasting into photoshop is annoying and although I got tools to do screenshots ("simple screenshot"), I do not use them, because most of the times I forgot to start them before I run CEaW. :(

By the way, another great feature I heard about is utilized in Norm Koger's TOAW (which unfortunately I do not own *cry*): There is a option to automatically save a copy of the jump map every turn. With photoshop, these can be used to easily create animated gifs which nicely show the progress within a game.

Jump maps are those small strategic maps where you see an overview of the whole map and a small rectangle that indicates where the focus of the main map/window is. I called them "jump map" because by clicking on that map, you jump to that position in the main map/window. I am pretty sure that I read this name before...

CEaW has this map too, just in the middle of the bottom row. How do you call it?

Ah ok - we call them mini maps, strategic maps or radar maps. Everyone says something different :)

Ok, then strategic map.

What do you think about an option to automatically save an image of the strategic map every round? Just think about the animated maps showing the progress of your troops you could create... 8)

Might be tricky but we can see :)
