Impact defense hero on close defense

What is the effect on achieving a defense hero of +3 on the Close Defense value of a Stug IIIB, with CD of 0 (zero)?

Defense hero bonus adds to all kind of defenses including CD. Def heroes are the best!

Ah... great my StuG no longer sitting duck for infantry when caught in bad position
