AI Thinking

The AI takes quite a while to take its turn.
I only play single player campaign and the game is fully updated.
In my output_log file, I had 100s of these errors:
(Filename: Line: 1682)
HandleD3DDeviceLost
HandleD3DDeviceLost: still lost
Skipped frame because GfxDevice is in invalid state (device lost)
In a previous game where this has happened, I made a shortcut to the executable, and added the options on the command line to limit the game running on a single thread.
So I did the same:
("D:\games\Order of Battle - Pacific\Order of Battle - Pacific.exe" -force-gfx-st)
Now it has sped up the AI turn from 10 or 15 minutes to 4 or 5 minutes.
Is there some other solution to this?
