Editing Units

I could not find my exact answer, it seems anything close was from older versions of the game. I have just gotten OOBP and wish to edit units in the campaigns.
I have tried editing units.txt, unitsb.csv, and unitsb.txt....but my value changes never appear in either saved games, or new campaigns. Is there something I am missing here?

If you mess with the data in the default game install, all scenarios will be affected (if you manage not to break the game...)
Editing units and other core data should really be done in a mod.
Take a look at the Battle of Britain campaign which you'll find under My Games ..... -> Mods.
This little campaign includes adding a few air units in the units.csv file.

Check the scenario forum

Thanks for the response.
I wanted my changes to affect all scenarios, and to use them that way permanently. I only play single player campaign mode.
I have no problem with it not working in multi-player and I have backups of all files I edit.

OK, then you can edit the units.csv in the main game folder.
Open it in a spread-sheet (I use Open Office as Excel doesn't handle the file correctly).

Thanks. I figure it out. I was trying to make changes on the units.csv in the wrong folder. I didnt realize there were 2 folders that file was in. (../Content/Data and ../Resources/Data)

Yes, there are some stuff that are in duplicate folders, campaigns for instance.
I wonder if the file structure changed in one of the updates.

Since we have started to make more and more game resources open for modding, only the content of the Content folder is now relevant.
