Pikes and Pila – Field of Glory Classical Period Doubles Competition
WHEN: Sunday 10th August and Sunday 17th August
WHERE: Club Tivoli
RULES: Field of Glory
ARMIES: 1000 Army Point maximum, chosen from the Field of Glory companion books Immortal Fire and Rise of Rome. Four generals must be included in the list. Each player on the team must control two generals and half the army’s battle groups. Only one list is to be provided and should include full details, including any special campaigns. Battle groups need to be fully defined by type, armour, quality, training and capabilities. Allied battle groups must be shown clearly and an order of march must be provided for the army.
ROUNDS: Two rounds will be held each day. Each round will be three and a half hours, with an additional period up to thirty minutes to be set by the umpire. When the round ends, all movement stops, shooting and close combat are resolved and final cohesion tests are completed.
TERRAIN: Terrain will be set by players as described in the rules. Players should bring their own terrain, but club terrain will be made available.
PRIZES: The following prizes will be given:
Julius Caesar Awatrd for the best performed Roman army
Alexander the Great Award for the best performed Greek, Macedonian or Successor army
Caratacus Award for the best performed Barbarian (ie non-Greek/Latin speaking) army
ENTRY FEE: $10 per day.
