Thought for the week.

Good Morning Panzer Corps Family,

I am curious, I overheard an interesting conversation at the water cooler this morning and now I have asked my family at home and my coworkers and apparently I am the odd duck.

What I heard was a woman saying to another woman. “I woke up 20 minutes before my alarm went off this morning, Uggh.” She was upset about it and her friend could relate.

I don’t use an alarm. I haven’t in years.
I just wake up, I wake up before everyone else does, at almost the same time every single day.
Not only that but I wake up excited about the day.
I look forward to my day and what I am going to do that day.

So I only found like 2 maybe 3 of my kids who feel like that, everyone else says they wishes they had what I have, but they do not wake up excited for the day.

Am I really that odd, or do some of my fellow gamers share my excitement?
Share with me your thoughts on this subject I await your posts with baited breath.

I am not like that, but my cats are and wake me up every time around the same time, too. Very bad on Saturdays and Sundays. :)

Good evening! Not odd, but I can relate to both sides; I come from a family of early birds - people who are very active in the morning and don't really need alarm clocks. And if they do, it's generally because they went to bed too late.

On the other hand, I am a 'night owl' with a chronic sleeping disorder. It has some advantages, like being able to stay awake and alert really late so I can take over driving duties at night when the early birds start to get tired. Or play PzC into the night without feeling sleepy... . But generally it is very annoying and just getting enough good sleep requires a lot of management. And I really need alarm clocks (or rather an alarm light) to wake up on time reliably.

So I can usually relate if people complain about their sleep, but if I wake up naturally 20mins before my alarm I would be quite pleased. And it's not like someone is going to get enough extra sleep in 20mins to make a difference...

I work shifts, so I really need an alarm clock to get to work on time. Especially when I'm working the 3 AM shift.
As for the rest, sometimes I wake up chipper and ready for a new day, other times I wake up wishing I didn't have to...

And sometimes I wake up with a phone call asking why I'm not at work yet, and find out I turned off my alarm clock. Which, by the way, is my smartphone so don't tell me about snooze. It doesn't always work.

Luckily I live about 5 minutes drive from my work place, so I never get there too late...

Agreed, I am a bit of a night owl too.
I usually go to bed somewhere between 10 to Midnight and wake up around 4-5
I am one of those lucky birds that doesn't need much sleep.
I sometimes need a 5 minute what I call a "breather" during the day, but mostly I am just eager to do my day to day activities.

Stay Lutheran My Friends. :)

Sleeping is such a waste of time. Just think of all the S**t you could accomplish if not for sleep.
I don't like sleep..I can sleep when I'm dead.

Amen brother amen.

That is why I get excited every time my sleepiness subsides and I can continue to function.
