Helsinki IWF 2 - Romans vs Santa Hermanded Nueva Castilian
Posted: Sat Jun 21, 2008 2:11 pm
I was facing James Hamilton, who had a Santa Hermanded Nueva Castilian army:
1 x 4 drilled knights
2 x 4 Jinetes
1 x 4 LH crossbow
2 x 6 armoured offensive spears
1 x 6 armoured defensive spears
1 x 8 pike
1 x 4 MF crossbow
1 x 4 LF handgun
1 x 8 MF almagahaver IF
2 x 4 MF armoured sword & buckler men
1 x 6 LF bows
1 x IC?
2 x TC
14 battle groups and a tough army to face.
Our game went as follows:

And there is a MF sword and buckler BG off-picture threating an intercept charge against Roman unit 1!
When time was called James had managed to rack up 14 points to my 6, so a clear win to James.
Post game analysis
The knights were difficult to stop and I lost 2 BG trying to do so, but the crucial move was James was able to seize and control the vineyard, which unhinged my defence on my right and centre. James exploited this relentlessly and got the game.
