How historical are the scenario oob's ?

If I play a scenario outside of the campaign (or after the campaign) will it be close to what actually was available to both sides ?

You get to purchase your own army in most cases before you start a map.

Stuff is kind of accurate, to an extent. This is heavily influenced by making the maps fun though!
