Graphical Bugs prevent game play

I have a bug that after click on a unit or two, the graphics will stop updating.
Moved units will appear to stay in one place. If you damage a unit the numbers just stick on that hex and so on.

This of course makes the game unplayable.

I have tried to update the graphics driver, reinstall the game , tabbing in and out of the game, and ran it in windows mode and no change.

Graphics card is a Nvidia 940m with current driver
System is has an i7 and 12 gig's of RAM.

Any help to get this running would be nice, I can't even finish the tutorial.

Try the following_

Open the game installation folder, find a subfolder named "Audio" and renamed it as "_Audio".
Run the game and check if the issue persists.

Nvidia 940m implies notebook or laptop, are you sure your not using onboard / chip instead of the right one?

as if it's a dual chip laptop / notebook, you have to sort out which one the game is using and make sure it does select the right one, which for you is the Nvidia 940m, and not the onchip one

How to get a DxDiag report file:

1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8)
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

and a report will show it if you wish to do it

I am getting an error posting the text, 'too spamy for a new user' it won;t even let me post a dropbox link to it.

I tried re-naming the audio folder and no change.

I used nvidia to control panel to change the settings for the game, but it won't let me add it to the game list(maybe because it's not 3D?. So I did a global change to force the Nvidia GPU and that did not change. I also tried to use the intel chip and no change.

Thanks

add the exe of the game to your Anti Virus and firewall program, to make sure check the logs of these to see if it was one of them which was to blame.

That usually means a 3rd party program, like an Internet security programs, is interfering with the game or update installation.

run the game from a admin account and use full admin permissions.

please make sure all game pre requisite are installed with the game, even if you think or fully know there are already installed, it will only over write, and it may be that you have a older or newer version of these where as the game in question may need a certain version.

please make sure you are running the latest game version and have up to date drivers installed on your pc,

If you have the original version. So you'll need to update it from the Internet.
Please note that you'll only need the last update, as the updates are comprehensive.

if it still doesn't work, then pop back and we will try something else, as without your report i'm guessing tbh

There is no anti-virus. The only firewall is windows build in.
I rolled back the intel HD 540 driver as well as the Nvidia driver to test.
I tried different resolution.
Everything passes in DX diag
Tried running at as administrator
Tried compatibility mode for 8 and 7.
Tried tablet mode and normal mode.
Game version is 1.09 from Steam.

My guess is that is it windows 10. the game worked the first time I launch it and I did the first tutorial mission.
But I know windows updates where pushed after that.

i use windows 10 pro 64bit, it works fine on that, site and steam version, so it's not that, for me it's a vga issue, but without a full report and any error logs from within, i'd by guessing as hardware / software errors always or most of the time give codes, without those codes the error is unknown so any advice is just well guess work

---------------
Diagnostics
---------------

Windows Error Reporting:
+++ WER0 +++:

and below that is the important bit, any information here and above gives details of crashes and errors and points most of the time to any errors with a code number than can be searched for and then make a better more informed guess or advice

mine had one error

+++ WER6 +++:
Fault bucket , type 0

Event Name: AppHangXProcB1

Response: Not available

Cab Id: 0

Problem signature:

P1: ArmageddonGame.exe

P2: 0.0.0.0

P3: 565f0401

P4: 4bb9

P5: 134250496

P6: WMVPlayer.exe

P7: 0.0.0.0

P8:

P9:

P10:

which means the default player in windows 10 needs to be altered to a better media player so i just switched it in the list of defaults and game worked fine.

without knowing your error code, i'd be guessing
Untitled.jpg
Untitled.jpg (136.86 KiB) Viewed 5253 times
but try mine, it's worth a shot as you have nothing to lose as with no codes i have nothing else to suggest other than contacting support

please contact support[at]slitherine.co.uk

who maybe able to give more advice

Delete the folder named "Warhammer 40,000 Armageddon" in your Windows documents folder at:
.....\Documents\My Games\

Fantastic! Changing WMP to have all media defaults fixed the issue.

I was using MusicBee.

Thanks so much!

your welcome, seems the game needs the codec that the other program maybe just doesn't have
