Ladies and Gentleman,
5th June,
Mary Bassett School, Bassett Road, Leighton Buzzard, Beds LU7 1AR
(School is central in town, Waitrose and shops are opposite, plenty of parking on school site)
One day, three game event. £15 a head.
Any 'non-European' lists from 'Cities of Gold' or 'Colonies and Conquests', all time periods, 15mm, 800 points.
All lists must contain at least 16 bases of Warriors and a maximumof 12 bases of 'battle-worthy cavalry/camels/elephants' (this does not include Light Horse).
*Edit 17-2-16* Non-European powers include Pirates. Arr!
*Edit 18-4-16* Non-European allies are allowed.
Artillery is usual 1 gun per six bases.

Timings
Following the lead of Oxford, we will be played using the following starting times: -
1st Round 9.00am to 11.30am

15 minute break

2nd Round 11.45am to 2.15pm

15 minute break

3rd Round 2.30pm to 5.00pm
Lists to madlemmey@hotmail.com by 15th May

Terrain will be preset, and hopefully themed to as many entered lists as possible.

*Edit 14-5-16*
If two Buccaneers and/or Korean forces meet and both have ships, and if they both agree, they
  • may
opt to fight it out between ships, therefore a waterway/coast will be added to their next table.
Ships will move 12" and when firing against each other count as having two average artillery at long range, and two superior artillery at short range (to simulate close range broadsides). Ships may still enfilade fire against shore targets too.
Each ship counts as being a unit of ten bases average/impact foot/swords and Unarmoured.
Now they can fight boarding actions! :D

I suspect the answer to this is more likely to be "No" than for other rounds, but are there any spare armies going?

(Just thought I'd get a claim in early on, like, just in case there are!)

I wish I could do this one as it is a cracking theme. I will put the army I would take on my future plans list if Ronan is considering getting one at some point.

Should be able to make this. I definitely have at least 2 armies that would qualify so may be able to lend if required. P

Are Pirates "non-European" in this context?

Tim, I was wondering when this question would arise!
Are you fighting against the major European powers? Then definitely. I was basically looking to avoid the colonial lists such as the Spanish, Portugese and French/Huron power lists. How well do they stand up against other warrior races?
16 bases of warriors, easy for you.

Pirates have lots of warriors.

Pirates are usually about 30 bass of medium foot and 30 bases of Warrior foot, plus a few guns.

I'm not sure about historically, but mine have fought quite a few European armies in their time!

No army, but would like to give this a go (and show support, as so many of you are attending the Italian Wars round at WWS in September).

You would be more than welcome, you can borrow my Samuari Roban. If they are not your flavour I'm sure we can find you a spare, Paul K will be bringing one and I'm sure we could bribe Quacktheking to lend a few! 8)

I hope to have 3 armies ready by then. Given that Isabel and I will need two that should leave a spare. But does depend on painting schedule!!

Thanks, steads - I've already accepted madlemmey's offer, so no need to worry. Very kind of you though.
