Identifying 2nd Edition ?

Is the 2nd Edition of the Ancients rules marked in some way?
My hardback copy has a 2008 Copyright. Is this the 1st Edition?
Are there sufficient differences between the 1st and 2nd Editions to warrant the purchase of the 2nd if my copy is of the 1st Edition?

That would be first edition going by that date.
The layout and methods of the rules did not change, but there were numerous and often subtle changes to the details of the rules.
In my opinion (and I think that of many others) it is more a V1.1 than V2.
You will need to borrow a copy of a 2nd Ed, and having done so it is quite a reasonable proposition to go through your 1st Ed book and pencil in the changes.
Having said that however, if you can get hold of a 2nd edition it would be better.

There is a sale on at the moment and the V2 rulebook is going cheap. I'd strongly advise you to buy it.

Thanks to both of you for the replies.
The sale was what prompted my questions.
I've bought a copy for myself and my brother.
