Is there a rule about using prestige in the multiplayer games to upgrade existing units in the field rather than/in addition to buying new units. This can significantly change the balance of a scenario, so I don't want to be doing it if there is an unwritten rule against it. It can really mess with your opponent's head, and strategy! But I'd hate to be accused of cheating if we're not supposed to do it.

Oh no, that is a great strategy and one I utilize when I can.
