I suspect this brilliant idea will probably be a no-go for technical reasons...however...Wouldn't it be great if - in skirmish mode - in addition to selecting your forces from the army lists you could raid the existing scenarios and play on some of the awesome maps made by more talented members of the community than I.

Most map generating tools produce pretty bland - sometimes completely insane maps. Pike & Shot is vastly better in this regard, and this suggestion in not meant as a criticism of that part of the game. It is just there are really cool maps I'd like to play with other forces, in other situations.

Sadly not possible, although of course you could clone a scenario and use the editor to replace the troops with different ones. If the deployments are fairly straightforward, you could use AI_Masterplan() in the scenario script to replicate the skirmish AI.
