Commander: The Great War update is live!

Patch 1.6.6 changelog:

- fixed a crash when AI was trying to deploy unit that was still in production
- fixed a crash when AI was looking for possible rail moves when there were rails in the faction's territory
- fixed a crash in AI's combat simulation
- fixed infinite loop in naval AI targeting system
- fixed infinite loop in naval convoy movement

I cannot run the update. After downloading and opening, when I try to install, I get the following: "Setup has detected that you do not have Commander The Great War installed. Please install Commanderthe Great War before running this update." I have installed v.144 and play it all the time. I'm stumped. Anyideas??

where is the game installed? default location?

which version are you using etc?

I have no idea how to find the information you're asking.

steam or site bought version?

It's a PC version. I bught it through Steam. Thanks foe helping!

then all your updates will be through steam and will be if you haven't altered it, the link above is for site version only normally

automatically installed once there is one for your game by steam, once steam starts up, it checks all games for updates, if it doesn't install for you, you have a steam or game cache error, and need to get the steam error code for me to advice on it.

Hi, I have updated the game to 1.6.6 version. Now, I'm not able to move the cursor over the whole screen. Althought the interface occupies the whole screen, the mouse only can move over a quarter of it. Can anyone hep me? Thanks!

How to get a DxDiag report file:

1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.


make a new post in the tech section with your report and we can see what's wrong and maybe able to offer some solutions hopefully, depending on the results and report

Still on version 1.6.4 and suffering all the naval moves bugs and crashes

Is there gonna be a patch for ipad as well?
