Scourge of War: Waterloo is released on Steam!

"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." (Napoleon – Emperor of the French)

Acclaimed by both wargaming specialists and fans of the Napoleonic era earlier this year, Scourge of War: Waterloo was praised for its incredible historical and military accuracy and its high replay value thanks to the varied scenarios and the sandbox campaign.

A few months after its initial release, Scourge of War: Waterloo offers a refined experience due to several updates that enhanced the gameplay and fixed the issues reported by the community.

Today, the game is reaching a new level with a new patch and a release on the Steam platform, and we are very excited to be able to show this epic strategy title to a whole new audience!

Get more information on Scourge of War: Waterloo from its official Steam page and from its [link=http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tt.as ... =1&smode=1]forum[/link]!

Do you want to know more? We are going to give you an overview of the game on our official Twitch Channel at 20:00 CET / 19:00 UTC / 2:00 PM EST!

Important! Along with the Steam release, the game has been updated to version 1.0043!

This new version brings a lot of improvements and bug fixes! Among all a bug in cavalry column reserves formation have been fixed and now the advance of scripted French officers in initial stages of WL06 has been restricted so they don't approach too close to enemy lines!

But the list of changes is very long so be sure to check it here

For non Steam users you can download the update from this link

Hi,
I notice the Steam release has a discount - is there an intention that this discount is going to be matched on here (either now or in a Xmas sale) ? Would much prefer to buy here and then also have access to a steam key, rather than be locked into Steam only (as I have been with one or two other games from this site, because I mistakenly bought them on Steam first).

The discount is matched between our store and Steam store. On Steam the discount price is $44.99 the same in our store $44.99.
The issue is that the Steam store have local currencies in their store, which sometimes are better or worse than real currency conversions.
Our stores (Matrix and Slitherine) works with real currency rates.

Thanks for the response. As I'm in the UK the Slitherine / Matrix conversion is to £31.99 (Current exchange rate for USD/GBP would have this at £29.41 but obviously exchange rates are fluid and this might have been different when the price was set). Steam have the game discounted from £29.99 to 26.99 i.e. approx. 10%, which puts it at roughly £5 or around 16% more expensive to buy it on Slitherine - if my quick maths are correct - which is not insignificant. Some companies - such as GOG - allow a credit against future purchases to defray regional differences - might this be something to consider in the future? Regretably a 16% pricing difference is enough on this occasion to deter my purchase.

Hello Drew,

I'm also in the UK and can see the same rates, but unfortunately we don't set the exchange rates on our store. This is done by BlueSnap, so we can only set the prices to USD and then they are converted for us.

This is best to ask in the games forum. I'm not aware of any plans but may be wrong!
