Very Hard - is it possible?

I remember playing this game very close to release and while Hard mode looked rather easy, it had 2-3 scenarios which were BRUTAL (mostly defense missions).

Now I was wondering...is it possible to beat this game on very hard? I am talking about the campaign and the new dlc I see they added.

I played last DLC on very hard. If you're willing to lose core units, then go ahead. :D

So, is it beatable or not?

And what about the Space Marines dlc, are they beatable on very hard?

I finished the campaign on very hard, and though I have to admit I had to occasionally load and reroll some dice, it was doable
and I enjoyed it. The Dlcs I haven't really started on very hard yet. I played them all through on hard, but very hard is a whole different story.

But hey go ahead and tell us about it :)

Thanks Docs.

The Space Marines dlc...are they much harder than the vanilla campaign?

And what about the difference between Hard and Very Hard? Is that so big?

The Space Marine DLCs are in my book harder, yes. Thats why I havent found the time yet, to go ahead with that challenge, but I will in the future. Though I'd first like to get that chess mode from Panzer Corps in Warhammer 40.000, I really love that mode, hopefully they will implement it.

As for the difference between Hard and Very Hard it was big in my perception. Not just downright ridiculous Enemy Mob Sizes but also fewer Points for your side and in my experience the AI almost always came up with better dice roll than I was. But I may be biased there

Still if you want a challenge give it a try!

A couple of advices I can give you:
1. Lose as little units as possible, the exp is really needed later on
2. Abuse those support units as much as possible, since they have no Ammo they can fire often.
3. Dont buy flyers
4. Dont go full Titans, they are good but way to expensive for more than 1 or 2
5. Remember to upgrade your units
6. You can switch between the different supporter according to your mission (a lot of Towns on the map go mortar, if you have open fields go fire support)
7. Always use choke points to your advantage

Most of these points you probably already know, since you but this game an thereby have a thing for Strategy games, but maybe some help you.

Good Luck in your Quest to fight back the Greenskins :D
