Iron barony units ridiculously weak

I waited till late in the game to fight the Iron Barony as i was busy fighting various human kingdoms, plus Khazoth and Maledor. They are ridiculously weak. They have no good units whatsoever. No decent infantry. No decent archers (not sure why orc archers should have shorter range than humans - how about making thr current orc archer ratings those for goblin archers and then making Orc archers just as good as human ones?). Also some infantry with at least 1 armour - and give trolls armour of at least 2 and a high heal to represent regeneration?

They don't need to have all elite infantry, like Khazoth, but give them say at least 4 units of elite infantry and 4 of elite archers or something, plus trolls.

And how about giving wolf riders and additional ability of an attack bonus against cavalry, and penalty to discipline for enemy cavalry fighting them, to represent giant wolves panicking horses?

As the Iron Barony army is just now it's dull and immensely easy fighting them, and i can't imagine anyone wanting to play as them.

They could still have lots of orc grunts, goblins and goblin archers too - and even make them zero turn recruitment so they keep their differences from Khazoth in being about vast hordes.

Try playing as the Iron Barony, and tell me if you still think they're weak. ;)

No, they have nothing to play with - not one standard or elite unit worth anything. Plenty of provinces so lots of money and resources, but no troops that are any use to buy with them. Will try, but it won't change my opinion.

After trying a little of playing as them i can see how you could maybe win with them by just autocalcing most of the time (which would be very dull). I managed to beat Dragonhold very early on with one of the starting armies - though that was with a full army and they had only 8 units. I suspect if an Iron Barony player tried a tactical battle against any other kingdom's full army including elites, he would lose every time and lose heavily.

Certainly couldn't beat it in a tactical battle, so would likely have to churn out lots of armies full of rubbish units and autocalc over and over till it wore them down, which would be pretty dull to do as a player.

The only unit that has any chance of surviving long enough to ever get any medals is the War Captain.

As an AI player in 1.9 Iron Barony seems to be incredibly passive and defensive - all it ever takes from any other player is one forest province from Ladvia. Hopefully it'll actually act aggressively and use its manpower properly in 2.0
