Think there's a minor bug in 1.9 with liberating an ally's province. I took Siel valley off of Brogen Hur - i was told it was my ally Sonneneve's Province and given the option of keeping it and taking a diplomatic hit with them, or giving them it back. Chose to liberate and return it. This worked, but every turn i get the same message, and i think every turn i get the diplomatic bonus for returning it again.
