Is there any way for me to manipulate a unit into picking up Files (Objective) moving into a new hex and dropping them, or moving into a hex and not picking up the file/ojective?
I swear I played against a guy who did this (unless it was a dream). He ran into the building picked up the files ran out of the building, dropped the files and moved to another hex. Meanwhile another unit picked up the files and went on to victory, all in the same turn.
I thought it was a brilliant maneuver. Of course when I went to try it, I see no possible way of dropping the files (objective)

I think I have been playing this game way to much! Now I am dreaming of impossible maneuvers and Glory beyond the scope of the game.

Please tell me there is a way to drop an objective item.
The Rock has the files and can not reach the objective area in time

Three turns and he still cant make it!!!
Not to mention the Victory hex moved position??? It use to be on the road; MacGuffin, Allies.
The enemy will not target him (Rock/files), knowing full well that he is stuck with the item and that he has no way of reaching the target zone...WHY, WHYYY!
I wanted to try and overrun my unit (Rock) in the hopes that it would push him forward in the right direction...No can do
Execute him (if only I could); Execute every last one of them!

Hi Waltero!
I just discovered I'm a horrible person: I can't help laughing at your tragic story.
I can confirm there is currently NO WAY for a unit to drop an item - excluding death (there is a way to suicide, if you have grenades and a nearby enemy, though...). I don't know what your opponent did, but the options are:
1) You saw something that didn't really happen.
2) There is a bug in the game that sometimes causes the item to be dropped.
3) Your opponent is an extremely skilled hacker with an unusual sense of humor.
I'd vote for options 1 or 2...
Your suggestion to allow item drop, anyway, is very good. It goes straight to our todo list.
Thanks for your time! Your reports are really appreciated.

eek, could you add the ability to overrun a unit that is carrying an objective

I can't think of any reason a unit should have immunity to an overrun attack?
