Ghulam is the singular - "a ghulam" - whilst ghilman is the plural - "some ghilman" :D

The ' is in 'abid as that is the correct transliteration of the Arabic so you know how to pronounce it correctly 8)

I tried to get Richard to also include it in Abbasid (which should be 'Abbasid) but he was against it :(

Would you like the lecture on correct bow cases [(tm) Brendan Moyle] now or later

so how do you pronounce ' ?

i never paint bowcases, so am not too worried about the orientation - though i did check your stuff of the outpost site to make sure.

It is a simple glottal stop - BTW the ' is called hamza in Arabic :D

Don't overlook bowcases, the troops fight better if they are correctly modelled 8)

Also I beleive they are individually dressed rather than uniformed.

I think both are possible - I have a recollection of a mention of some ghilman being given some sort of uniform, however, even then I suspect they'd be the minority and most would be dressed as they wished. I paint mine without uniform anyway.

Yep, although it might not seem familiar if you haven't had much experience with languages other than English.

We just have to find a way to convince outpost to do more bow firing, sword wielding figures in their mounted ranges. The lancer armed guys that predonimate due to to the DBx "CavS are armed with lance" approach doesnt work well for troops now with no POA for lance.

CAT, Mamelukes, Seljuks etc....

I know they have bows modelled on them but the lance they carry implies a lance POA as its the most dintinguishable weapaon on them to opponents.

The Outpost modelling is great but th edrawback of such dynamic poses is they they look silly if th ewhole army is in the same dynamic pose. Ive avoided this by range mixing heresy (Seljuks and Mamelukes in with the Ghilmen for variety)
