Outflanking march question

When a smaller flank march is driven of the rules states: (p145)
-.... It arrives up to 12 MUs from its army's rear table edge
-If not them self driven back, the enemy arrive ..., except that they too must arrive in the same 12 MUs of the side table edge.

Does this mean that the bigger flank march can also only arrive in the limited 12MU that the driven back troops arrived?
Which if different than when there was no enemy troops riven back?

Thanks

You are correct. The rationale is that they are following/pursuing the other side's flank march that was driven back.
