How to bring Regina Marina to Atlantic?

What are the options to bring Regina Marina to the Atlantic?
I have read some chapters in the manual which seem to be wrong.

GS3.0 Manual 7.4.4 tells:
The off-map transit loops from the Atlantic to the Red Sea and Persian Gulf and the loop between the Red Sea and Persian Gulf can only be used by the Allied forces.

12.21.2 tells:
Since you will have captured the Suez Canal, you will be able to unite the efforts of he Kriegsmarine and the Regina Marina in the Atlantic.

I have tested in a hotseat game and it is not possible to use the Suez Canal to come to the Atlantic. Does this mean the only option is to capture Gibraltar which is nearly impossible?

It's difficult, but not nearly impossible. The obvious/easier way is to attack Spain, which allows a land/air/sea campaign to take Gibralter. The downside is that it adds Spain to the Allied camp. The alternate, slower, method is to invade Portugal and use an air/naval campaign to grind down the garrison (against the AI, easy, against a human tougher. But with enough Uboats, possible).

Or, declare war on Vichy, and capture all the cities from Tunis to Casablanca before US entry. Then Spain joins the Axis.

Oops. I meant to write "refuse the armistice" not "declare war on Vichy". One of the requirements to get Spain to join the Axis is to refuse the armistice that would create Vichy France.

All incorrect. I can show you all the best way to do it, but I have to show you - if the opportunity arises of course. I challenge all three of you to a game. I will be axis, but mirror games are fine too, so you can show me your pitiful solutions if you dare (or not, play any strategy you want). mupawa at gmail dot com.
