Bug

In mission 5 of the 2nd US campaign, I have experience several case of the game being unable to process the AI turn. It is still possible to get out of the game (the mouse ansxer and the menu can be access) but otherwise the game does not advance. One of the case was when the german officer was assault and killed by Clint on 2nd impulse. The bug happens every time I try this. There was another instance when the other officer was suppressed (the previous (the one to SW) being dead).

You are assuming that Slitherine is not running 2 different build trees (or at least managing the downloads separately). That is incorrect. I have been unable to finish a couple of multiplayer games because my opponents were still on the initial non-steam release while I had been upgraded to 1.03 because I am on Steam.

Hopefully they can get their releases under control as urgent patching becomes less of an issue. Espeically since mixed versions apparently make it impossible to play Multi-player games!

1.06 is released on steam. Steam doesn't update you instantly so you may have to force it or wait. Nothing we can do on that i'm afraid.

Exit and and restart Steam.
Also check this youtube video on how to auto update Steam games.

I know how to keep my game updated. It updated during this conversation and I am at 1.06. It seems that the problem has disappeared and another bug that made the dialogue to be skipped during this campaign.

The only thing that I did not understand in my last game is that I cannot use the tank gun to fire on building if there is a unit inside (I have the orange round indicating that I have a can fire on this target to destroyed the building and I have a green ligne of sight to the building thought not to the unit inside the building). Is it by design or a bug or did I miss something?

With buildings you can only fire through a window/door. If you cant see the target you should be able to hit the building instead. Is this not possible?

No it was not possible to hit the building (or I didn't figured out how). When the building is empty I have no problem firing at the building.

If you can post a screenshot that would help to work out what is going on. It could be a bug but we'll know when we see it.

you can't hit a building if it is occupied, only target the unit in side, there is no option to target a building only once it has a unit in it

as you can see from the screenshot, the orange circle means you can fire at the building, once a unit is in side, this isn't displayed / shown either so no way to target it, if you miss the unit inside a building either, that doesn't damage the building with the missed shot.

nowhere does it give the information saying how to if it can be done, so i've tried many times to manually do it, but no matter what i try, it doesn't work, that's not to say there isn't a way, just none that i've found, but the developers may have a more correct answer

There was the orange circle with a unit (at the exact place on you screen shot). I'll see if I have time to reproduce the situation.

if you can see it, then you should be able to zoom in and target it, i've tried but never been able to see it, so can't target it, but a developer may have a answer than helps more, as i'm not 100% sure if it can or can't be done, so have no idea, only a opinion that i've never been able to do it...

Here is the screen shot. You can clearly see the orange target and that it does not want I fire because of the hidden unit. The bug is actually more specific than I thought. If there is a non hidden unit, you either can fire on the unit (through windows/door) or you CANNOT fire at all (no orange target either which is strange but might be correct and is consistent with zak observation) BUT if the unit is hidden then it seems that the orange dot appeared (note I have not tried to see if the orange dot appear if I have a line of sight).

See the big red text on screen. Your line of sight is blocked :)

The building Hanz is in is blocking you.

He is TRYING to target the building, not the unit. Apparently there is a but such that a player can destroy a building if no one is in it, but cannot target the building if a unit is inside.

In the physical version of the game, if you attack someone in a building with a weapon that has the Destruction ability, it actually damages the building in addition to the attack on the unit inside, but regardless of that a building should be a valid target unless the scenario rule says otherwise. (If the building has an objective in it, the scenario will usually declare the building off-limits for destruction since it is a goal of your mission.)

Edit to add the rules quote regarding Destruction ability and buildings:
Heroes of Normandie boardgame rules wrote:Every time they fire at a structure directly or at a unit within the structure, they roll a number of dice equal to the value indicated in the symbol. For each result equal to or greater than 4, place a Destruction marker on the structure. If the number of markers reaches the value of the structure, it is destroyed.

Maybe I'm not understanding, but he has no line of sight to the building he is targeting?

The tank has a line of sight to the building. The line one sight to the unit is blocked.

If the tank had no light of sight to the building the orange marker should not appear either so it would be bug any way. As nostra point out there seem to be a difference between the rules of the boardgames and how they are appplied in the game as the building should always be a valid target for the gun that can damage them.

Ahh ok, I thought the building was blocking your LOS. Sorry if that is not the case!

I'll add this to the bug list.
