Using FOGAM armies with FOGR

I need a bit of help please. Is there an accepted way of mapping FOGAM troop types to FOGR?
I remember seeing some posts about mixed AM/R tournaments it but can't seem to find them.
What I'm contemplating is using the FOGAM lists with FOGR points & rules so that all the 15th century armies I have hiding in toolboxes can get a run out. I'm not going to invest in FOGAM v2.0 just for the occasional game and haven't played v1.0 for a couple of years.
If there's anything other than troop types I should take in to account please let me know.
Thanks.

Using your thread and some database technology I've identified the few areas where the two don't match exactly or you have suggested a solution for the drilled/undrilled split:
Code: Select all
AM RE (matched) RE (unmatched)
=== === ===
Cataphracts - -
Field defences - Field fortifications
Chariots (Heavy) - -
Chariots (Light) - -
Chariots (Scythed) - -
Heavy Foot Heavy Foot Warriors (Undrilled)
Inspired Commander - Great Commander
Knights - Gendarmes
Medium Foot Medium Foot Warriors (Undrilled)
Did you come up with anything for Cataphracts? Heavily armoured cavalry with light lance perhaps? I'm not too concerned about the absence of a FOGR category for chariots.
Looking at the weapons the unmatched are:
Code: Select all
AM RE (matched) RE (unmatched)
=== === ===
Firearm - Arquebus
Lancers - Light/Heavy lance
Longbow - Bow
Pikemen - Pike
Spear (Defensive ) - Spear
Spear (Offensive) - Spear
Swordsmen (skilled) - Swordsmen
I don't think the spear is a problem and your 1400 date for knights to use heavy lance looks spot on.
Right off to do a couple of lists.

A few years back we did a WOTR civil war using FOGR.
The relative cheapness of bow made the armies much larger.
We really enjoyed the game.
