Three Questions

I am enjoying the game, thanks for a fun product. I was hoping someone could answer two questions I have:

1. Is there a way to check LOS between squares? If so, how? If not, is this on the "to do" list? I would find it useful if I can check the LOS before committing to a move.

2. When you see you opponent assign their Orders (human or AI) are you seeing a random pattern or the actual sequence they assigned them? I ask because the sharp eyed can infer from the pattern who got which Order since most people do Order 1 to Bluff. You can randomize them yourself and back track to create confusion if what you see if the actual pattern. I was wondering if this was necessary. For example if I place Order 1 through 3 plus a Bluff on a HT, HMG, Support, Rifle, Hero is that what the game shows to my opponent when he sees the Orders placed on their end?

3. If number two above is true, can the AI "read" your Order placement sequence too and know which unit is getting the first Order etc.?

Hi IronFist,
here are the answers to your questions
1) At the moment you can't. It's definitely on our todo list anyway

2) Nice question. The game shows the assignment of your opponent's orders from left to right. So you cannot have a clue on the orders' numbers

3) The AI does not "read" your orders, so the computer opponent has no clue on how you assigned your orders.
The AI in this game does not cheat in any way

Thanks for the answers Simone and good to know. I was hoping I could assign my Orders however I wanted without worrying that my opponent (human or AI) could decipher anything on their end.

Does the AI know how to use a mortar? It assigns orders but only move it around.

The AI has fired a mortar at me so they do use them.

Hi Abbath,
yes the AI knows how to use the mortar. If the AI does not uses the mortari, it's because it thinks it can use his orders/activation in better ways

Orders are typically less than the number of units present on the battlefield, so the AI assigns an order to a unit only if it it has a good chance of hitting enemy units (or if it has a good reason to move)

Consider that the mortar, being an indirect fire weapon, has a good chance (67%) of 'scattering' away from the desired target areas. This limits the chances of hitting the target unit(s) and this is taken into consideration by the AI.

In conclusion, the mortar will probably fire when it can hit more than one unit with a single shot (you know, mortar fire targets the intersection of 4 areas. So it can hit up to 4 units at the same time)
