29k prestige by the time i reach sebastopol??

Title is the question
I reached sebastopol in gc 42 with 29k prestige on general from 39' and im woried that this is way too much prestige...
In my previous attempt on field marshal (witch if i am correct has the same prestige rewards as with general) i had 12k prestige which later proved to be too little to go onwards to 45' ...
But now i have 17k prestige MORE just with better savings? I had DVs in all scenarios like on the previous campaing but was much more cautious with prestige and had almost the same core...
I dont like to have that much really!
Pls let me know if its possible to have that much at the moment i am on general, or if its some kind of bug!
I use 1.20 rules
sry for bad english

I had upwards of 50k on Lieutenant, so you're result isn't unreasonable.
But you will need every cent in '44 and '45

Current campaing:
39'to40' core 39 prestige: 8931
40'to41' core 66 prestige: 17625 wtf!
41'to42' core 94 prestige: 29143 wtf x2!

I insist it is not a bug.

Losing two less units per scenario would save you about 500 per scenario or 5000 per campaign and can easily explain the difference. Alternatively, losing one less unit and requiring fewer replacements can also do it. There is usually a huge prestige difference between the first and second time you play a scenario.

Thanks guys!
I still dint had a comparison with someone who played on general to know if its possible for sure but i feel you are right and no bug in this case...
So now i will just make all my tanks KTigers and steamroll everything? No more strugle for prestige?
Or still not enough for 45 and berlin redux you think?

I never saw Berlin, but I took massive losses in '45 anyway (see my replays). A reasonable amount of Tiger II's can be afforded, but you can't throw them out into the wind!

Tiger IIs cause you to take a huge prestige cap hit. For that reason, I only use SE Tiger IIs, which are exempt. 29k by Sevastopol isn't a lot. Remember that the current prestige cap is bugged (set far lower than intended), meaning you will hardly get any prestige from this point forward once you start deploying heavy tanks.

So, if you extend this thought out further, in the big picture it would make sense to sell that SE infantry unit you get in '40 & just wait for a tank instead. Down the road, the prestige that would be exempted by a '43 SE grenadier even with the high speed halftrack would be far less than a Tiger II. You could balance out the force you deploy as needed with your core units.
I still need to get a better handle on the prestige cap concept.

Yes prestige wise it makes sense. But i cant. I can never get rid of my panzergrenadiere and in 44, they kill even more tanks than my best panzers.

Correct. They way I usually play is to always keep one SE spot open, unless they are all tanks. When I get an SE unit, I sell an SE infantry unit. In that manner, I can get prestige by selling the infantry while gradually shifting my SE to all tanks. Then, later in the war, I have 8 SE Tigers, so I don't really need any other tanks. I might deploy one or two if they have amazing heroes. This saves a lot of prestige cap hit.
