Bulge defending thoughts.

Right now the current rules say that, for example, if a square is occupied say by two allied units and it is attacked by germans, if the combat is not decided fully one way or another, should another allied unit move into the square as reinforcements it now attacks the German units by itself. I don't think this is fair or realistic. It basically removes the very real military tactic of counter attacking. If you don't get the job done as an attacker the defender should be able to counter WITH reinforcements. It's one of the hazards of a failed attack and happened continually during the first days of the Ardennes Offensive at such places as Wirtzfeld, the Elsenborn ridge and St Vith especially. Further more how about if an American unit retreats into a square of an Elite unit it is rallied and CAN have a move if it has not had one. Again this would very much recreate the events in december where American units on the run would get turned around and put back into action by strong leaders. Just some thoughts. Would love to hear some comments.
