Allied Player Cheated with Double Move?

Playing the fukk campaign and the Guards armour / 53rd Inf and 29th Armour arrived on the 22nd December and joined up and made a double move to break my Line of Supply in Marche.

If I have understood rules correctly that should not be possible?

I have a screen shot to prove how far those units have moved which should IMO not be possible and just caused a bit of rage against the computer.

Is it a bug or something I do not understand about double moves for Brits?

Hello, Holien!

If what you are saying is true, it is a bug indeed. Can you upload a Screenshot here so I can take a look at it? Or perhaps if you have a Save Game just before this happened?

Thanks!

All right! So tell me again what happened? 29Arm joined in Fosse and 53Inf joined in Namur, right?

Hi the units did there first move to Huy - Yes starting at Fosse and Namur. Then once all three joined they moved and fought German inf at Marche.

I think the 29th moved to OHEY as I can not see how it got to Huy in one turn.

To be honest it was a blur of moves adfter their first move and really caught me by surprise as I did not expect them to be able to launch an attack?

I am going to continue playing unless you need a save from the files now? I have stopped at first point I could and made a save, but also still have resume file?

Not sure how / where to copy them from if you need them?

So from Fosse and Namur, they are all able to reach Huy, that's for sure. So at the end of 22nd, there were 3 units in Huy, I suppose. The day of 23rd is the first day in the Scenario when the Allies starts the day. So at the start of 23rd, they took all their forces from Huy to Marche, which is fine and it doesn't seem to break any rule.

Am I correct?

LE:

For the future, saved files are located at:

C:\Users\Programmer\AppData\LocalLow\Shenandoah Studio\Battle of the Bulge\save

The save file for the AI games is ComputerOpponent.gd, while the one for the Hotseat games is FaceToFace.gd.

You can zip it and upload it here, or perhaps on your dropbox, as you wish.

Hi I think that is what I have missed, if The allies get first turn on the 23rd then they moved those three units on that day and attacked.

But my Supply has been assessed after that action so it appeared that it was done the previous day?

Maybe that is the confusion?

If I had my supply turn and then the Allies moved that would have made it look correct?

I will take copies of saved data and continue playing. 1st time I have played full scenario so was not aware that 1st turn activation swithced to Allies on 23rd.

Hmm the more I think about it that must have what happened but really the Allied player should wait for it's turn while supply is assessed?

I will see if I can re-create next day to see if that is the SOP being used by AI.

I guess too late to change now if that is the case....

TTFN will continue playing

Thanks for the swift response.

From your screenshot I see that it's the 23rd and your 116 Pz still has supplies. So what I thought about it's still valid. They moved in 22nd to Huy, and in 23rd to Marche. You will be left out of supply in 24th.\

No worries! Glad I could help.

Just played through to end and it as I thought the Allies get to do their move before German supplies / reinforcements are allocated.

This caused the confusion tied into the fact I did not know / understand that Allies gain init by moving 1st.

A bit odd as it can put a unit out of supply ability to gain reinforcements when at start of day (for both sides IMO) would be right?

I presume that this applies to Allies as well when Germans have Init, will have to test to see...

I suppose as long as both sides suffer this slight dis-advantage all is fair in love and war...

Did beat AI with 51 point win which was nice despite the unexpected attack...

;)

Thanks again

Congrats on beating the AI! Beware though, as we update the game it might become stronger and stronger.

The team that starts the day gets to use their replacements points and all the other events, and after that they have to move. Only after the starting team finishes all these, the other team gets to do theirs as well.
