Spartans...

I just got my Immortal Fire book in and my primary army is Alexander so I'm busy finishing them off. In the meantime I think I've watched the 300 about a thousand times and it just doesn't seem right not to have a Spartan army.

Now this is going to sound like a retarded question, but which list do I use for a Spartan army around the time of that historical conflict? The way the army lists kind of lump all the Greek armies into one list is beyond confusing and I can't figure out what I'm doing lol.

I'm praying my rulebook gets here soon as I am basing army lists off of "that seems right" as I have no clue how different troop types work!

You use the "Classical Greek" list and only use option "before 450" or "before 460". If you want to limit your entire army to Spartans you would use "non-Thessalians before 450" for your cavalry, you would choose all your hoplites from the "upgrade Spartan Citizens to:" and "Upgrade Spartan perioikoi to:" lines, choose your javelinmen from "others", etc. Note that upgrading your hoplites to Spartans counts toward your minima of 24 bases of hoplites. The Persian Wars Greek Starter Army list is a good place to start if your not worried about making the entire army Spartan.
