Newbie to OOB - Couple of Mac bugs?

As an avid player/occasional map designer for BA/BA2, I've just taken the tentative step into OOB Pacific and am loving the depth of this one. Ok it doesn't have quite the same cutesy detailed 3D animations of BA/BA2 but OOB's game engine oozes potential.
A few questions please gents, all for Mac v1.8.3 running on OS 10.10.4
1. Sometimes when I press the 'next unit' key, the map screen goes blank (black). Is there a way to recover from this? I've tried to send my turn (multiplayer) when this happens, but it won't allow me to do that either? All I can do is quit the game and redo all of my moves
2. I'm not sure if this is an OOB thing, or a special thing related to Erik's (awesome) Coral Sea MP map. I can't land Allied planes at Port Moresby. For some reason, the 'airfield' becomes a 'city' type hexagon. There are aircraft stored there (in the usual hanger, so I can launch these no problem) but I can't land adjacent aircraft back into the airfield. The hanger shows lots of free space.
3. Is there a way to put units to 'sleep' so that they stay where they are and do not activate when I press 'next unit' (useful for AA guns that have moved but are now where I want them)?
Thanks guys
