Hello folks,

I'm disgustingly new to FoG and just picking up stuff on the forums as well as working my way through the rules.

Anyway, one thing I'm sure of is I'm very interested in using either of the following line of figures.

Not sure which I'll use yet. My question is, which book/army list should I grab for these? My thinking is wait a month for Legions Triumphant and call them ancient British, Franks or perhaps Saxons. Does that sound about right, or is there a supplement that I'm overlooking? Thanks in advance for any and all help/advice!

Take a look at www.splinteredlightminis.com for Romano Brit figs...he is USA company,has been on this forum and says he will put together FoG armies on request...the figs look superb with marvellous detail and nice proportions...worth a look

The suplement you really want for Romano British is the dark ages book "Wolves from the sea" http://www.ospreypublishing.com/content1.php/cid=403 but you could IMO use these figures for a Foederate Roman army which will be in Legions Triumphant.

Disco, I definitely like the minis from Splintered Light. Thanks for the link. My group is leaning towards the 25/28mm scale, however, so unless that changes, I'll simply keep them in mind.

Hammy, thanks for the sneak preview. Wolves from the Sea would obviously be perfect. However, in the meantime, Foederate Romans would fit the bill. In any case, I'm still wading through the rules, but it's nice to have a destination in mind... and hopefully an army up and running in about a month and a half!

Christophe, wow, the Gripping Beast minis are excellent! Thanks for the link! What I thought would be a flip of a coin is now a very difficult decision.

So, my next question would be how to paint up these figures as Foederatii Romans until the Wolves of the Sea supplement comes out in what feels like an eternity. Then again, I could just paint them as vaguely "Arthurian" post Rome Brits and just use the Foederatii list in the time being..

So many decisions... so much fun. Again, thanks all.

Absolute pleasure...it will be Splintered Light for me next year when the relevant book comes out although I don't know if I'll have an opponent with a relevant historical enemy!

HA! Kevin, I'm in the same boat. The Roman-British will probably be my second army, when Wolves of the Sea comes out next year.

My major opponent at the moment has already started building his Seljuk Turks, so I'm going to be a good historical gamer and build a European crusader army, not sure yet which. Once I'm through the rulebook I'll be picking up Swords and Scimitars or maybe stretching with Storm of Arrows.

In any case, I'm bookmarking all of these companies.

I would probably go with Gripping Beast over Westwind I own some of both and the GB is superior. Westwind also doesn't have great customer service in my experience.
