Seeing what sort of French 1792 force I can put together to deal with Dead.'s 1813 Prussian/Russian smarmy swarm.
Thoughts on whether you'd go average drilled or poor veteran for the unreformed line troops???

I've got a 1792 French army - be warned it's not the one to chose for a power gamer!
But colourful and unique.
I always go with the poor vet unreformed - mainly because it's a bit different.
Small units of unreformed infantry (unless superior) are generally pretty hopeless, however they can be useful as line padders and are good blocks against enemy cavalry.

With the new extended line rules they are more resilient. Their shooting will remain the same, you will have to reroll 6's for CMT and cohesion, but 3 dice might make a difference

I prefer Veteran for anything that shoots

Well, I ran with the poor veteran unreformed. They sucked up lots of shooting, for sure, in extended line. The ignore one hit saved the extended lines more than once, keeping them to a single drop and never an outcome move. But they rolled '6' every single time for cohesion checks and then failed the rerolls every single time. A complete disaster!

The Prussians did not find it all that disastrous
