Given:

BG of 10 MF in 3 ranks (4-4-2) with 6 LF immediately in front (in 2 ranks)

The LF can turn 180 and move 3 MU directly back, but this does not have the ranks clear the MF. They also gain 2MU from the interpenetration rules, but this still does not have the 2nd rank (which was the original front rank) of LF clear the 3rd rank of the MF BG.

According to the interpenetration rules, the LF bases, since all made contact with the front of the MF BG, are moved completely through the MF BG.

My question:

a) The LF are disorder until they spend a turn reforming?
b) The MF BG CAN now move in the same manoever phase straight ahead now that the LF BG has moved back?
c) Or does this count as an incomplete interpenetration and the MF BG CANNOT move because the LF BG is considered still "in it" and only the LF are allowed interpenetration movement?

d) My brain is completely muddled and making an epic out of a very simple point in the rules??!!??

The LF can turn 180 and turn back 180 to end facing the same direction if they pass a CMT and move only 3MU. Why not just turn 180 move 5 MU (+up to 2MU) and get all the way through facing in the direction moved.

In 15s,
3MU move+2MU=125mm
5 base depths x 20mm =100mm
so they easily have room to "back up" through the MF?

-turn 180 + move 5 + 2 extra...is the max. move not 3 with a turn of 180?

-am using 25s...yes, 15s will clear...one more little wrinkle with 25mm and 25mm MU

Moving 3MU gives you 2 turns, so ending facing in the same direction. Why would you need to end facing the same direction?

found my error...had been reading for some reason that turning 180 restricted you to 3M or less... ...so yes, just turn 180, move 5 + 2 extra and they clear...thanks for putting up with ancient brain here
