Mixed BG and loss of one per three

Is this right? It seems one dice per three is only lost by those troops within a BG affected, e.g. mounted disordered by elephants. Therefore if a BG of mixed troops, HF/MF was in uneven ground they would loose 1 per three dice in the front rank only?? So 2 wide 2 deep they would loose no dice in melee, because they only get 2 for the HF, however they would loose one of their 4 dice at impact??

Spot on Phil,
When I started using Medieval Danish I tried odd formations to keep the HF out of terrain. Once I realised it didn't matter that much I changed tack and just charged into terrain with axes a swinging
