Multiplayer Question

Trying to figure out the answer to this: The editor allows one to create a multiplayer carryover campaign, but is it really possible to play one? I mean, once the mission I and my opponent were playing is over, to play the second mission, I have to issue a new challenge, and the mission starts with just the units called for in it, not the surviving units from the previous mission in their destination spaces on the map. Am I missing something, or is this just not a supported feature?

If that is something not supported, is there a way for me to designate an "overnight" period in a game? That is, let's say I and my opponent play 20 turns of combat on the map, and now it's after dark and the major action ends until the next morning. Is there a way to perhaps have a couple turns of night time and then skip forward to the next day? The idea being to simulate two sides fighting over the same piece of real estate for two to three days, with perhaps changes in weather conditions on the different days.

How would one tackle such a conundrum?

Unfortunately multi-mission campaigns are not supported in MP (though it is on our wishlist!). You could in theory have a mission script which forces a pause in fighting (and perhaps moves all units back to some overnight positions).

Cheers

Thanks, Pip. Yeah, it's a pretty big ask (MP campaigns). It's all good though, for two reasons: first, the project I'm working on will work just as well with one off missions, and second, I'll start researching the idea of a script that does as you discuss (the overnight positions) as my 'phase 2' of the project, once everything else is done. Should be pretty fun.
