B17

I was a little surprised to find I could capture a B17 and immediately use it to bomb the allied forces surrounding the airfield. Even for a beer and pretzels game this seems a bit far fetched! :o Could it not instead be placed into the force pool for the following scenario?

Cheers,
Chris

Things were exactly the same in PzC, so I'm not sure what you expected?

I'd even say in PzC captured units were often actually useful, whilst - even with the change in the upcoming patch - they are more like a gimmick in OOB.

I've not played PzC. Just setting up my forces in the Coral Sea scenario and it seems I can have more carrier aircraft in the scenario than the carriers can support.
As long as I juggle them by starting the scenario with some airborne. This also seems a bit weird. Is it possible to win the scenario without doing this or is it the expected
strategy for the player?

Ive had this too. What I did was buy another carrier.

I bought another carrier with two slots that are filled but after that I still have +3 air supply so can deploy another aircraft even though there are no more carrier slots available. Maybe it's a bug?

Not a bug, its just not checking to see if you have hanger space available.

I've just been playing around with it a bit. I start the scenario with +2 air supply. Not enough to allow me an extra carrier strike plane. I assume this is to allow for float planes.
If I then buy the Ryujo this gives me an extra +7. So I can then fill its two slots but have enough for an extra strike plane or fighter even though there is no slot available for it.

Cheers,
Chris

Slots are irrelevant. All that matters is the amount of supply the carriers generate.

Personally, I'm fine with this abstraction and often shuffled around "excess planes" when I only had smaller carriers to deploy.

You seem to have a strange fascination about extremely strict rules. :P

No I agree its fine. When I first posted I thought I could have lots of extra strike aircraft - then I realised it was just the odd one which I assume is to allow for float planes.

The extra plane for a carrier can be carried on the flight deck. So even though the bay's may be filled, the deck of a carrier can be used to carry an additional plane.
