Evading and Quality Re-rolls...

I'd appreciate some advice on the following two matters:

(1) Can, say, LH pursuers still in contact evade if charged?

(2) Do you HAVE to make re-rolls? For example, suppose you have some shock troops in charge reach of enemy but behind a line of your skirmishers. They have to test NOT to charge. However, suppose you want them to charge? If you throw a couple of ones (which normally could be re-rolled), which means a CMT fail and, therefore, a charge, do you have to re-roll?

Hi Chris

Regarding your 2nd point, it clearly says in the rules that impetuous troops do not reroll when testing not to charge.

Regarding LH - I don't believe they can evade if in contact. I don't have a rule page though, but I'm pretty certain they can't.

True dat, but they DO re-roll if you are non-shock and want them to charge at a time they need to test (for example, disrupted troops that wish to charge).

The reason I bring this up is because it was bought up in my last game. Because you get the 'quality re-rolls do not apply' on an impetuous charge it seemed to make my opponent think (momentarily) that they couldn't re-roll in that case. Not relevant to the above, but I just wanted to clarrify.

Thanks for the comments but what about the pursuing LH? Can they evade if charged?

Sorry, misread your post. Check what therules say about 'in combat'. If you are still in combat (not sure if pursuers are) then 'no'
