11 is viable. BUT
Too many scots.
More KN.
More french crud filler.
Another TC.

I'd take less Scotts , but what I have there is the minimum , there has to be a min of 16 Longbow and 8 men at arms ?

No, Minimum of 4 men-at-arms and 8 Longbow. I think the biggest problem with the list as you have it is how do all of the components work together. A large part of your force is very defensive and the other part very offensive. It could work fine but it would take a lot of practice. But I would go with less Scots as well.

How do you work out that it's only 4 and 8 ?
I am taking the Scots allies form the Scots continental list on page 26 of storm of arrows.
Ah , I am looking now and I see another list as (allies) , is that where you get that from ?

Yup, that's the one.
Where armies can provide an allied contingent there is an extra (smaller) list for the allied contingent.
As to your army list I would try to see if you could get the crossbow BGs to 8s unless they are going to work together or just hide at the back. 6's for MF shooters working on thier own is not an ideal size of BG.

Ok thanks
I have two BG of 8 xbows painted up , now that I know I can take smaller amount of Scots I can increase my Xbows to 8.

Here is a moderately succesful list I have used:
3*TC's
4 BG's of 4 Knights - Superior, Heavily Armed...
8 Mob
6 Crossbowmen - MF, Average, Protected, Crossbow
4 Valet de Guerre - Cavalry, Average, Armoured, Lance, Swordsmen
4 French Archers - Poor, Longbow
4 Spanish Crossbowmen - Average, Crossbow
Allies
TC
2 BG's of 6 Scottish Longbow - Average, Protected, Undrilled, Longbow, Swordsmen
4 Men-at-Arms - Average, Heavily Armed, Heavy Weapon, Men
The French Crossbow should be used to support the Scottish Longbow. French Archers and Mob lurk at the back, Cavalry protect the flank of the knights and the knights just smack whatever is in front of them

Argh.
Not Crossbows.
I haven't gotten the hang of them yet. I have the hang on how to kill them.
Important points. They don't hold anything much by themselves. They don't hold flanks. They do provide rear support.

I've been running with the French Starter army and also have been scratching my head about the crossbow ~ I've been trying to get them to disrupt the same enemy that my knights are about to charge although I suspect this might not be their best use. Voulgiers on the other hand have been performing
very nicely

La Keith ? Surely that should be Le Keith, or is there some dark secret best not discussed here ?

Had my first game , it was a 2vs2 game so I only had 400 points.
But my BG of 8 xbows were the men of the match
They marched up a flank and forced the Burgundians to move out from their postions to stop the BG of Xbows moving through a vineyard and attacking their flank.
MF move just as fast as Knights , so I just held the Knights back while the xbows did all the threatening.
The Voulgiers were good too.
Painting madly now to get the army up to 800 points
Le Keith
