However, surviving German unit seems to stay in supply forever?

I guess this comes from Finland actually reverting to neutral state, although pro-Axis. Thus delivering supply to the Axis unit adjacent to the Finnish border.

This will happen very rarely and the effect is not big. So it's probably better to just finish off the German unit. It's not like it can go very far.

It can be risky if we mess with Finland not being neutral after the armistice is signed. We want it like that so neither side can enter the territory.

Normally Axis units inside Finland when the armistice is signed are reverted to the force pool.

I agree that it doesn't affect game play: The German unit can't go anywhere, and is not likely to take Leningrad any time soon.

It just seemed strange...although you've probably seen stranger!
